This resort was opened in December 1981 and since then we have tried our best to keep the Island as original and natural as it had been at the beginning, endeavouring to continue the traditional Maldivian hospitality and charm of yesteryears.

Asdu is probably the smallest resort in the Maldives with an affordable price, apart from just one other more luxurious resort. This is by no means the cheapest resort. You may find other larger resorts of equal standard or of even better facilities with lower prices. We believe the small size of the Island ensures a certain degree of exclusivity, well worth the price we quote to our prospective guests. But we assure you that we have maintained a very consistent price structure over the last 10 years.This Island is especially ideal for those who love to be in a natural setting and prefer simplicity and informality on their vacation. Although the facilities are not deluxe, they are more than adequate and comfortable.

We pay more attention to guest transfer and food. The boats are seaworthy and comfortable, the meals are on a set menu basis but we assure you a variety of dishes that you would enjoy - more home cooking than commercial cooking.

The lagoon surrounding the Island is shallow while the house reef is indeed easily accessible thereby offering safety to children while snorkelers would waste no time in reaching the house reef.

Diving is especially good around this part of North Male' Atoll. There had been frequent sightings of mantas and even whales at times.

There is good news for surfing enthusiasts. The best surfing areas are in close proximity to Asdu – special trips can be arranged for resident guests who would like to go surfing.

This is an ideal place for families and groups of friends for vacationing – we maintain a degree of quiet atmosphere agreeable to the tired professionals who look out for peace and a flexible time-table for their activities.

Health certificates (yellow cards) are not required unless travelling from a tropical African country.

For those travelling to Maldives, no entry visa is required - 30 days visa is given at the Airport. Light summer clothing, snorkeling gear and lots of sun cream is all what you will need when travelling to Maldives. It is advisable to travel light. But, do bring your personal diving equipment if you are a diving enthusiast.

Payment with US dollars cash or traveller’s cheques is more advantageous. Other currencies fetch slightly less exchange rates although all major currencies and credit cards are accepted.
